AHPRA has closed the 4+2 pathway to new applicants, as of the 30th of June 2022. However, the College of Professional Psychology welcomes applications from provisional psychologists who have started their 4+2 internship already and would benefit from our program’s structure and support.

Getting you to the finish line 4+2 Registration Program

Getting you to the Finish Line is a bespoke 4+2 registration program for provisional psychologists already in the 4+2 pathway who want packaged help and support to complete their registration. Designed with maximum flexibility in mind, this program will be tailored to your needs following an initial consultation with our Programs Manager. Access the resources and support that you need, without paying for the things you do not.

Our goal is getting you to the finish line, so you can join the hundreds of COPP graduates who are practicing psychologists around the country. Let us help you finish your registration, backed by our 30 years of experience and expertise. This isn’t just the last step – it is the first step towards the rest of your career.

Program Components

1. Supervision Expert Guidance for Growth

Support your skill development and practice readiness as well as timely completion of your 4+2 requirements.
• Principal and secondary supervision
• Monthly group supervision.
• Flexible scheduling across all Australian time zones.
• Knowledge and expertise in all 4+2 requirements

Learn with and from a diverse team of Board-approved supervisors who bring expertise across multiple psychology fields. Access secondary supervisors to assist in task completion, explore career pathways, prepare for the National Psychology Exam, and deepen your professional identity.

2. Learning Essentials Building Competence and Confidence

Core professional development modules combining live, interactive practicums and self-directed study deliver rich, applied learning. Mapped to the Psychology Board’s core competencies, Code of Conduct, and National Psychology Exam curriculum, Learning Essentials bridges the gap between theory and practice, building reflective, ethical, and effective early-career psychologists.

3. National Psychology Exam Boot Camp Prepare, Practice, Succeed

A complete preparation package featuring:

  • 5 in-depth exam preparation modules offering 50+ hours of structured learning, including guided activities, study notes, and videos.
  • Access to all official PsyBA National Psychology Exam readings.
  • Access to key psychometric tests to deepen understanding and support applied learning.
  • Engaging multimedia learning including videos, and interactive materials.
  • Domain-specific practice questions covering all four areas of the NPE framework.
  • A full-length practice exam to build exam readiness and simulate real exam conditions.

4. Assessment Task and Case Report support

We provide extensive guidance to help you complete all compulsory PsyBA Board tasks with confidence. You’ll receive intensive training in writing Case Reports, including access to our expert Review Panel to maximise your chance of success. We also offer borrowing access to psychometric test kits, supporting materials, and reporting templates to meet Board guidelines and strengthen your assessment skills.

Placement and Learning Support

The PALS Team is your dedicated partner throughout the program, helping with placement searches, workplace challenges, supervision coordination, learning requests, and program progression. No question is too big or too small.

Eligibility

This program is for provisional psychologists who are already undertaking the 4+2 pathway to registration and are looking to get their program done and attain General Registration as soon as possible.

Getting to the finish line

Our National 4+2 Psychology Registration Program meets the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) for your 5th and 6th year training whilst preparing you for your career as a psychologist.

Our structured and integrated learning program is designed to ensure that as a provisional psychologist, you receive the supervision and professional development required to achieve PsyBA core competencies as well as access to learning resources such as psychometric assessments to enable you to complete all PsyBA assessment tasks.

Your 5th and 6th year of supervised, generalist practical training

To develop knowledge and practical skills across the eight core competencies in general psychological practice identified by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) in order to be eligible for general registration as a psychologist

2 years full-time

Placement: 2720 hours over two years (approx. 28 hours per week)
Supervision: 160 hours required over two years
Professional Development: 120 hours over two years

Eligibility for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia

You must have completed an approved four year tertiary psychology qualification

    Our National 5+1 Psychology Registration Program supports your development as an emerging early career psychologist, building on the knowledge and skill gained in your 5th-year degree and prepares you for PsyBA general registration.

    We provide a flexible and integrated learning program comprising core learning modules with self-directed activities, references and resources and live interactive workshops as well as additional elective e-learning modules to boost your knowledge and ensure you are able to consolidate all the skills needed to achieve the PsyBA core competencies and prepare for the National Psychology Exam. Our program also provides opportunities to connect with peers and learn from a range of experts in the field, developing your network as you embrace your early career as an emerging professional.

    The core competencies of the 5+1 registration program to be achieved by the provisional psychologist over the course of the internship are:
