What we cover

What each 60-minute session will cover:

  • An overview of the key components of the 5+1 pathway, including supervision requirements, professional development, and key tasks required by the Psychology Board of Australia – Case Reports and the National Psychology Exam.
  • What makes a suitable placement and how to choose good job roles that will set you up for a smooth internship and a successful entry to independent practice.
  • The importance of supervision and finding the right Supervisor.
  • The College 5+1 registration program, what we offer, how it can help you navigate the challenges of intern life, and what we look for in our interview process.
  • Q&A on provisional registration, the 5+1 pathway, and starting a career as a psychologist. Learn about the options available to attain general registration as a psychologist and start your early career in this profession. This information session includes an overview of the College's own structured registration program, which offers a structured, practical, and flexible way to complete your sixth year of training. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask any questions you may have, to help weigh up your options for this next step in your career. We have over 30 years of experience supporting provisional psychologists to access the profession, and we look forward to helping you start this journey.
