5+1 Expert Supervision Package
The College of Professional Psychology’s Complete Supervision package is designed to fully meet the Psychology Board of Australia’s 5+1 internship supervision requirements, while providing an enriched, supportive, and collaborative learning experience that helps you grow into a confident, practice-ready early career professional. Our supervision model combines structure, flexibility, and expert guidance as you learn with and from a range of psychology professionals who bring diverse perspectives and rich practice experience. This team-based approach supports your skill development, competence, and confidence as you transition into independent practice.
Program Components
Package Components
The Supervision package provides a comprehensive and flexible supervision pathway designed to meet the Psychology Board of Australia’s 5+1 requirements. It includes:
- up to 62 hours of individual supervision.
- At least 50 hours delivered by your Principal Supervisor.
- 24 hours of group supervision across monthly 2-hour sessions.
You’ll have access to a broad team of Board-approved supervisors with diverse expertise across clinical, counselling, organisational, and educational psychology, along with opportunities to work with multiple secondary supervisors to deepen your knowledge, support exam preparation, and explore different career pathways. Supervision is available across the week and in all Australian time zones, allowing you to schedule sessions at times that suit your needs. The program is aligned with the new competency framework, internship requirements, and the NPE curriculum, and emphasises reflective practice, ethical decision-making, professional identity formation, and collaborative learning within a supportive community of practice. Built on the principle of safety in knowledge and diverse perspectives, the Supervision package offers a connected, expertly guided learning experience that helps you grow with the team, learn from experience, and achieve true practice readiness.
PALS Team – Placement and Learning Support
The College’s Placement and Learning Support (PALS) Team provides personalised, practical guidance for interns engaging with our supervision services, offering assistance with:
- Supervisor allocation
- Coordinating access to specialist or secondary supervisors
- Helping you navigate workplace or professional challenges.
- Responding to your individual learning and development needs.
With extensive experience supporting hundreds of provisional psychologists, the PALS Team offers informed, compassionate support to help you stay on track, build confidence, and get the most out of your supervised practice, even if you are not enrolled in the full College program.
Eligibility
The Expert Supervision Program is designed for provisional psychologists undertaking the 5+1 pathway to general registration.
To enroll in our 5+1 Psychology Registration Program, you must have completed an approved five-year tertiary psychology qualification.
Fees
Full one-year Supervision program $15,000.
Individualised programs for shorter durations available upon interview.
Students Qualifications
Overseas psychology qualifications will have to be assessed for their Australian equivalence by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
